About AS Careers
AS Careers was launched in 2006 to provide professional independent careers guidance, advice and information. It is based in Norwich in Norfolk.
AS Careers was founded by Ann Starkie. She is a qualified careers adviser who has worked within the careers sector for over 10 years. Ann has worked in the Connexions Service, within FE, and in adult guidance on regeneration funded projects. She is a member of the Institute of Careers Guidance.
Ann holds a 2:1 honours degree from Nottingham University in Social Policy and Administration and has two awards for academic distinction and services to the university. She gained her postgraduate diploma in Careers Guidance from the University of the West of England and completed Part II of the Diploma in Careers Guidance in January 2000.
Ann is married with one daughter. In her spare time she runs a local support group for children with Eczema. She enjoys travelling, writing poetry, and films starring Michael Caine.
Why is AS Careers unique?
AS Careers is a company that aims to offer tailored made careers advice and guidance at an affordable price. Ann says: “In creating AS Careers I wanted to bridge the gap between services offered by government agencies and those offered by management companies. Often the average young person or adult seeking change falls between these two providers. Clients want independent specific advice that is affordable, and tailored to them.”
AS Careers provides the individual or an organisation the opportunity to pick from a menu of services to suit their needs. This means that the client owns the process and can choose what best suits them at a particular moment in time. If a client just wants to do a CV or have help with an application form then this can be provided. Likewise an organisation may choose for workshops or presentations on specific areas they are looking to develop.
